Rubem Dantas in Seville on May 19th
Thirty years ago, composer, producer and percussionist Rubem Dantas, on tour with Paco de Lucía and his group, decided to play in a performance the Peruvian drawer. Since then this instrument has become essential in any flamenco formation.
Now Dantas meets to create Rubem Dantas Cajon Tour. For this, she has Justo Heredia Fernández ‘Malaguita’, Joaquín Sánchez, José María ‘Petaca’, José Fernández ‘Petete’ and Saray Fernández ‘La Pitita’ and La Susi as guest artist.
With this project, Dantas performs compositions of his last solo album, Festejo, as well as versions of musicians such as Dorival Caymi, Paco de Lucia, Camarón de la Isla, Egberto Gismonti or Chick Corea.
His performance in Rubem Dantas Cajón Tour is based on the incorporation of the drawer in flamenco and other musical styles in which he had never been used, showing his great mastery of the instrument.
Rubem Dantas will perform in Seville next Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in Central Theater. Tickets are on sale from € 17.19 in El Corte Ingles. It is the first time that Rubem Dantas acts in Seville.
