Night routes for summer in Seville.

Sightseeing in Seville during the summer can be a bit tedious, and although it is true that we have no beach, you can enjoy the charm of Sevillian nights with nighttime activities.

Here are several guided routes (available with different companies) to get to know the city in a special and different way.

 

– Casa Pilatos.

Organized by Casa Pilatos and Fundación Casa Ducal de Medinaceli in collaboration with Engranajes Culturales, the route ‘Women of Pilate’ is set from a female perspective where women who inhabited the House-Palace tell us their version of the events.

– Palacio de Dueñas.

In the light of the lamps, this route goes into the history of the building and the illustrious characters that inhabited it: Antonio Machado, Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart…

Visitors will tour the most significant spaces of the building by visiting the patio and the rooms on the ground floor as well as the gardens.

– Hospital de la Caridad.

The night visit to Hospital de la Caridad is very interesting since it is done behind closed doors and in the light of the lamps, being able to discover closed spaces to the general visit.

You will know the rites and secrets of this brotherhood and admire the most important works of art of the Sevillian baroque that once saw Mañara, Murillo or Pedro Roldán.

– San Luis de los Franceses.

Attendees will discover the history of the building (the interiors, the artistic collections, the library, the viewpoint of the turret…) and the illustrious guests who once inhabited it as Elvira de Ayala or the Countess of Gelves.

– Casa de los Pinelo.

The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of St. Elizabeth of Hungary organizes these night visits to the headquarters of its institution.

The visit is focused to meet the characters who once inhabited this house (Murillo, Picasso…), while knowing the rich heritage of which this space is composed (works of art, historical documents, curious pieces…).

Next dates: August 7, 21 and 28 (10:00 p.m.) and September 14 and 28 (9:00 p.m.). Price: 12.00 euros/person.

 

– Around the World with Magellan and Elcano.

This visit is made on the occasion of the celebration of the V centenary of the First Circumnavigation of the Globe by Magallanes and Juan Sebastián Elcano that will transfer visitors to August 10, 1519 to know all the details about the preparation of the expedition.

Attendees will complete the Magallanes route with Pigafeta, chronicler of the expedition, where they will tour the most emblematic places of the city. The visit ends with the arrival of Juan Sebastián Elcano, responsible for the expedition after the death of Magellan, to the port of Seville on September 8, 1522.

– Triana.

– The Jewish Quarter of Seville.

On this visit, you will be able to know how the old Jewish Quarter of Seville was by recreating in our imagination its old access doors, observing the vestiges of its walls, walking through its narrow and winding streets, and visiting its old mosques, which later became synagogues and are currently churches.

But in addition, the Jewish Quarter of Seville hides many legends. We will meet the most important characters that inhabited it: from rabbis to merchants, to philosophers and treasurers as well as the stories that made them known.

– Seville, 1929. Iberoamerican Exhibition.

On this route we will travel through Seville at the beginning of the 20th century to revive the Ibero-American Exhibition that took place as well as the transformation that this caused in the urban structure of the city.

The visit to Jardines de Murillo, Paseo Catalina de Ribera, the Theater and Casino of the Exhibition, Plaza de España or the original pavilions of Argentina, Guatemala or Brazil, among other places, are mandatory stop during the tour.

Of course, we cannot fail to mention the distinguished architect Aníbal González and what his works meant for the city.
