Two months before, on December 15 of this year, the Andalusian capital will host the 31st European Film Awards ceremony which represents another step for the city to achieve its goal of being one of the capital cities of European cinema and promoting local investments as well as capturing new filmings.
Spanish Film Awards 2019
The Andalusian capital has been chosen from among two other great options according to the words of the president of the Film Academy, Mariano Barroso who today presented the project in the Seville City Council together with the first vice-president, Rafael Portela and the mayor of Seville, Juan Espadas.
It will be the second time in 33 years that the awards are not held in Madrid. Already in year 2000, the then director Rosa Vergés and Antonia San Juan as host, held at the Auditorium of Barcelona the 15th edition of the Goya Awards .
The presenters of the ceremony will be the couple composed of Andreu Buenafuente and Silvia Abril who will take the baton from the comedians Joaquín Reyes and Ernesto Sevilla that led the gala this year. Buenafuente is an expert since he has already presented two galas from the Goya with great success.
Barroso has indicated that the academy seeks to create a new concept of the gala where the objective is to claim Spanish cinema. One of the possible changes could be the grouping of the award of certain prizes in order to make it more agile although it is ruled out to eliminate any award.
