The Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses of Seville will host on the 19th, 20th and 21st May the third edition of Expocáñamo, which will return to consolidate itself as the industrial and therapeutic fair of reference in the south of the peninsula. This year presents the first edition of the Industrial Hemp Forum and the confirmation of General Levy, one of the references of international reggae.
The site has more than 7,000 m² of exhibition space and 2,000 m² of outdoor areas, where companies from the national and international scene will publicize their products and will be responsible for explaining to the attendees the advantages of using hemp in them.
The stands will be divided into different sections: the textile industry, the food and cosmetics sectors, areas that make use of industrial hemp and its derivatives to produce their products.
In the conference section, industrial hemp will have a special dedication on Sunday 21 with the first Forum of Industrial Hemp and its Applications. Where professionals and researchers will present their projects and vision within the sector at European level. The bio-construction project Cana Palea, by Miguel Martínez de Moretín, Fernando Delgado and Vicente Mora will explore the use of vegetal wastes that gave rise to CañamoLab and Daisuke Mori will speak about microorganisms and the resolution of environmental problems, among others.
Inside the musical scene we will have the performance on Saturday 20, from the British DJ General Levy, one of the great exponents of international reggae. He will be joined by Iseo & Dodosound with the presentation of his new album as well as the local artists Tunelon Iration, Fak Scratch and Dubstoned Sound System. In addition it introduces the first contest of djs Expocáñamo that will offer an opportunity to the new talents.
In the section of conferences we already have the presence of the speakers; José Javier Fernández Ruiz, José Carlos Bouso and Guillermo Velasco, who will explain the current situation regarding research for therapeutic purposes. Dr. Fernando Caudevilla will present the novelties and the situation of medicinal cannabis in Spain. Activism will have its place in the hands of Patricia Amiguet and Anna Obradors, founders of the State Network of Anti-prohibitionist Women.
The textile use of hemp will have an important presence, from the sample of fabric manufacture, thanks to the Hemp Museum of Callosa, to the fashion runway that will be held on Saturday 20 by the AMSA, Fashion Association Sustainable in Andalusia.
Among the parallel activities of the fair, attendees can enjoy an authentic garden with live plants of hemp. And as in previous years, there will be the exhibition of machinery of the Middle Ages used for the manufacture of hemp fibers, thanks to the Hemp Museum of Callosa del Segura (Alicante). One of the Spanish towns with more history in the hemp industry.
In order to improve the experience of attendees in its third edition, Expocáñamo presents several new features. The CañaBús, its official bus, will pick up visitors who want it in the main points of the city, making a route between FIBES and the city center during the three days of the event. Two new areas will also be available: the outer marquee of associations and the specific area of vaporization.
Expocáñamo 2017 will open its doors on Friday, May 19th and will have a schedule from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., after which the concerts in the outer zone will begin.
