The musical based on the work of the writer Maurine Dallas Watkins on the crimes of which she had been writing for the Chicago Tribune, is set in the Chicago of the twenties during the era of the Prohibition.
With libretto by Fred Ebb and Bob Fossec and music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb, it has been adapted for this work by Celia Dolci and directed by Nacho Doña.
The play tells the story of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly through criticism of the corruption of the judicial system and the concept of criminal stars.
Roxie Hart is accused of killing a man who would have tried to have extra-marital relations with her, while Velma Kelly has murdered her lover and her sister. Both are in the county jail of Cook and from there they develop this exciting and frantic story that will make the enjoyment of the entire audience…
