The Triana bridge, officially called Puente de Isabel II, was built just under his reign, between 1845 and 1852. The engineers in charge of its construction were the Frenchmen Bernadet and Steinacher and relied almost in the whole of the construction on a bridge which then existed in his native country, the bridge of the Carrousel.
