On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 December 2017 at 11:00h and at 12:30h will take place a theatrical visit to the American Garden of Seville.
The Institute of Culture and Arts of Seville, the Office of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía and Engranajes Culturales have prepared a family and educational activity about the first circumnavigation of the Earth by Magellan.
Around the World in a Garden.
The trip begins on August 10, 1519, when Ferdinand Magellan and his chronicler in the expedition called Pigafetta detail us the preparations of their trip by the Atlantic until arriving at America.
Magellan will tell of his arduous winter trip through the South Seas and the adventures and dangers that they found there while the participants complete the route on a printed map in which they will be given detailed information.
In the Philippine Islands, Magellan will die at the hands of the natives and it will be Juan Sebastián Elcano who will head back to Spain with the last available ship, arriving at the Port of Seville on September 8, 1522.
