Seville’s fair or April fair, several names for a unique event in Andalusia. Each booth that sits in Los Remedios district has a history. It is the most visited exhibition of Andalusia, either for its atmosphere and joy, for your good time or by the beginning of the bullfighting season of the Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza, so recognized in our city.
The origins of the April fair date back to 1846, when they requested three days of the month of April to celebrate an annual cattle fair. Despite some issues it was decided to accept to the event, that was supported by many ranchers and farmers, giving beginning to the first Feria de Abril de Sevilla.
Originally held in Prado de San Sebastián, during those times, the outskirts of the city, until in 1973, and due to the success that earned, moved to the Fairgrounds where all the booths were replaced.
The cover dedicates each year to commemorate some recognized monument of the city, being a meeting point for friends and family who wish to find themselves.
The most typical of the Feria de Abril, rebujito, tortilla de patatas, paper lanterns, flamenco costumes, horses and the joy of the people.
