During the month of May, will be held in Sevilla the new edition of the Book Fair, which will take place from 22 May to 01 June. The meeting place of this great cultural event will be like every year, the New Plaza, right in front of City Hall. The new of this year, part of the traditional book signing and presentation of new works, is a tribute to two Andalusian authors worth remembering: Antonio Machado and Juan Ramón Jiménez.
Pricewise, it is well known that to be held in an open area, the entrance is free, while tickets allowed. It also has some pretty extended hours as it opens 11 to 14 and 18 to 22 hours. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays will do 11 to 14:30 and 18 to 22 hours (Friday and Saturday will be up to 23 hours).
Antonio Machado and Juan Ramón Jiménez in Seville
We can not hide the great popularity of the Sevillian poet Antonio Machado, and the Onubense writer Juan Ramón Jiménez. Besides for having a successful and comprehensive work, these two geniuses of literature will be honored this year for two different events: first, the 75th anniversary of the death of Machado (Sevilla, July 26, 1875 – Collioure, February 22, 1939); and the centenary of the crowning work of Jiménez, Platero y yo, written in 1914.
In addition to the tribute, will be dedicated and educational activities based on the literary work of these two authors, children’s activities, parades, broadcast a live program of RNE called Paper Stories and more that will taking place during all these days.
