Murillo House at Seville will open its doors for the celebration of the fourth centenary of his birth to be held during the year 2017.
The House where the Sevillian artist spent his last years of life is located at number 8 of the calle Santa Teresa of Seville, in the neighborhood of Santa Cruz. The building was inaugurated as House Museum in 1982, has two plants where the rooms are distributed around a main courtyard with a well.
The Murillo Home is currently the headquarters of the Agency for the development of Flamenco which belongs to the Ministry of culture of the Andalusian that for this occasion gives facilities for the celebration of the fourth centenary activities.
IV centenary of the birth of Murillo
He has stated in 2017 as the Year Murillo. Four hundred years of the birth of the Sevillian artist and for them in the property different activities such as exhibitions, conferences and other activities will be scheduled.
In addition to the celebration of the fourth centenary are being reviewed 24 canvases of Murillo, from the collection of the Museum of fine arts of Seville, of which 17 paintings are being restored, cleaned and the remaining five will have a comprehensive restoration.
THE Museum of fine arts are working to some works of the painter have ceded temporarily by other international museums and can show the splendor of much of the legacy of Murillo in the city that saw him to be born.
