The Andalusian Parliament, old Hospital of the Five Wounds, was built and designed by Don Martin de Gainza in the year 1546. He was responsible for directing all works almost until his death. His successor was the great Renaissance architect Hernán Ruiz II, who inaugurated it two years later.
The most important element of the building is the church, which is located in the central courtyard, has a Latin cross, and how could it be otherwise, has a very prominent Renaissance style. Since 1992, it houses the full, and the most important part is the high altar, built by Diego López Bueno, and with paintings of Alonso Vázquez.
Visits to the Andalusian Parliament
The seat of the Andalusian Parliament can be visited from 15th September until 15th June of the following year, because the months of July and August are closed to the public. These visits are always in the afternoon, twice a week, if the institutional activity permits it. To do this, you need to arrange it or by telephone, or by sending the questionnaire of their website. It is obligatory to carry ID or passport to the House.
