The King’s Cup Final will be held at the Benito Villamarín stadium, next Saturday, May 25. It will be the first time that the Real Betis Balompié stadium hosts the final of this competition.
The board of directors of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced the election of the Benito Villamarín stadium in a press conference chaired by the Organizers’ Director of Competitions, Alfredo Olivares.
The board chose the location of the King’s Cup Final for the first time after calling a tender for its award last December, in which the candidates had to meet a series of requirements.
FINALS CUP IN SEVILLA
The Cup Final has already been hosted by the capital of Seville on three previous occasions (at the Reina Victoria stadium in 1925 and at the Cartuja Stadium in 1999 and 2001), although it had never been contested to date in the white-green fiefdom.
The competition is still at stake, and although it is still unknown who will be the finalists, what we can take for granted is that it will be a very fierce final and a great sporting spectacle.
