‘The Phantom Lady’ at the Lope de Vega Theatre in Seville.

The National Classical Theater Company represents on May 10, 11 and 12 the play ‘La dama duende’, by Calderón de la Barca at the Lope de Vega Theatre in Seville.

 

The play

Premiered last year at the Almagro Festival (Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha), it is realized by Álvaro Tato and directed by Helena Pimienta. It is a comedy belonging to the ‘capa y espada’ genre.

In the cast are Joaquín Notario, Rafa Castejón, Marta Poveda, Álvaro de Juan, Nuria Gallardo, Paco Rojas, Cecilia Solaguren and Rosa Zaragoza.

The National Classical Theater Company belongs to the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) which depends on the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

 

Synopsis

The plot revolves around the widow Doña Ángela who imprisoned by her brothers so that she does not fall into worldly temptations will try to slip past of her extreme vigilance in order to conquer Don Manuel.

It is a comedy of intrigue, jokes and entanglements that revolve around love and honor. The play shows the struggle of women to assert their rights.

 

Functions

The functions will take place daily at 20.30. Tickets are now on sale both at the box office and on the website of the Institute of Culture and Arts of Seville (ICAS).
