It will be held from 23rd of November to 03rd of December, 2017 with the participation of more than 50 processional music bands.
Different activities are organized for the eleven days of the congress: traditional parades of bands through the center of the city, concerts, talks, meetings, conferences or workshops, among others.
Programming of the Band Congress
The programmed activities are the following:
1.- Concerts
Inaugural concert of the Municipal Symphonic Band of Seville. Day: 24th of November. Time: 8:30 p.m. Place: Chapel of the Sweet Name of Jesus, seat of the brotherhood of the True Cross.
Surprise concert Band of Processional Music Bands. Day: 30th of November. Time: 9:00 p.m. Place: Sanctuary of the Gypsies.
2.- Parades
I Parade of Bands. Day: Saturday, 25th of November. Time: starting at 6:00 p.m.
II Parade of Bands. Day: Sunday, 26 of November. Time: from 12:00 hours.
III and last Parade of Bands. Day: Saturday, 2nd of December. Time: from 12:00 hours.
Their routes start from the Plaza San Francisco, going through the following itinerary: Granada, Plaza Nueva, Avd. De la Constitución, Germans, Argote de Molina, Placentines, Franks, Villegas, Divino Salvador Square, Cradle, Locksmith, Sierpes, Plaza of the Bell, Martín Villa, Laraña and Plaza de la Encarnación.
3.- Talks and workshops
Meetings on Media and Processional Music in Seville. Days: 27th, 28th and 29th of November. Place: Graduate Hall of the Faculty of Communication of the University of Seville.
4.- Conference
Conference: The creation of religious processional music. Day: 27th of November. Time: 8:30 p.m. Place: “Círculo Mercantil” from Seville.
5.- Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions FIBES
From Friday 01st to Sunday 03rd of December 2017 there will be a series of concerts at FIBES. In addition, there will be an exhibition area and commercial activity. To close the congress, on Sunday 3rd od December, 15 bands and groups from all over Spain will perform in an uninterrupted concert recital, which will start at 12:00 and end at 8:00 p.m.
