The Alameda of Hercules is a large public square with fountains and playgrounds for children located in the historic center of Seville, near the river Guadalquivir and the Macarena neighborhood.
It dates from 1574, making it the oldest in Spain and Europe public garden. In Alameda emphasize the House of the Sirens, a civic center, and the columns that come from a Roman temple situated at Mármoles street. On these two columns are the sculptures of Hercules, founder of the city, and Julius Caesar, Hispalis restorer and ramparts.
